This quarter I want to talk about some of the things that we in the Church Of God In Christ do and have done for many years. Sometimes we do things and never really know or understand why we do them. Some questions we can answer through God's Word and others through the thoughts of the early Saints. We must understand that some things were put in place and became a tradition because of someone's opinion. Everyone has opinions, but it doesn't mean that it's right or wrong, it's just an opinion. Sometimes it's a good opinion, but not workable for the good of all at any given time.

The Prayer and Bible Band Topics are an excellent source for those who desire to know more about God’s will for their lives through Bible study and practical application. The lessons include questions for the student’s consideration and discussion.

The theme of this quarter’s Prayer & Bible Band Topics is “Mediums and Methods of Revelation.” Much of the emphasis of this series will be on the intermediaries God chooses to be His spokesmen to the family of believers, but we will also explore direct means of God’s communication with the world in general and with believers specifically.

Covenant Relationships

God desires genuine relationship with each one of us. Throughout Scripture we see Him make a covenant with many individuals. In this series of lessons, we will see God’s interaction with men and women just like us. And like these biblical characters we do not want to allow sin to separate us from developing and maintaining our relationship with God. God always keeps His promise. It is our responsibility to keep our end of the agreement.

This quarter I want to remind the Saints that in the middle of changes, we must hold fast to the teachings of the Word of God. We realize that we are in the last days; therefore, we must help God's people prepare for end-time ministry. This God given information will provide you with the assurance and confidence to continue to study and obey God's Word. You may pass some unfamiliar sights and landmarks as you travel, but be assured that God is leading you and He will never leave you.
